Scott Hall, Director of Jazz Studies Columbia College Chicago Music Director, Chicago Jazz Ensemble Originally from Rockton, Illinois, DownBeat Award winner, Scott Hall had the pleasure of working with William Russo and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble since 1994 as trumpeter and Assistant Conductor. As Music Director with the CJE under the artistic direction of Jon Faddis, he frequently rehearses and directs the ensemble in performance. His college training began at Northern Illinois University. He was a member of Ron ModellÃïïs NIU Jazz Ensemble having performed with over thirty of the greatest artists in jazz. Scott moved to Chicago in 1991 to further his career in music. As a graduate jazz composition student, he received a NARAS award while arranging and performing with the DePaul University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Bob Lark
